Preparing for your Reiki Session

Reflection and setting your intention is an essential part of preparing to receive Reiki. Take time to delve into your intentions—this could include journaling your thoughts, emotions, and expectations for your session. Whether you've researched Reiki's physical, mental, and spiritual benefits or are simply curious, reflect on how it could positively impact your life. To deepen this connection, consider practices such as breathing exercises, meditation, or spending time in nature or a favorite quiet place. The key is to align with your mind, body, and spirit.

Grounding
Connecting directly with nature can help anchor your energy. Try standing barefoot on the earth to establish a direct connection. Alternatively, place your hands in prayer position and visualize a golden light descending through your crown chakra, enveloping your entire being. Allow this energy to flow naturally without forcing it, creating a sense of safety, security, and stability. Embrace this grounding practice the day before your session and again 30 minutes prior.

Dietary Preparation
To avoid discomfort during your session, keep your meals light the day before. On the day of your session, opt for easily digestible foods such as fruits or light snacks. Avoid heavy meals that could distract from your ability to fully relax.

Relaxation
Relaxation is at the heart of a successful Reiki session. Ensure that you've handled all pressing matters beforehand to avoid mental distractions. Find a comfortable position with a straight spine to promote energy flow. In gratitude, thank Reiki in advance for guiding you toward your highest good, and begin the session with a heart full of love and appreciation.

These are the practices I personally use to prepare for giving or receiving Reiki. Feel free to adapt them to best suit your journey.
